f you'll be in the area this Independence Day, consider the Anchorage July 4th Celebration as this year will mark its 14th annual event. The event is held on the Delaney Park Strip and features over 50 local vendors, activities for the kids, and free entertainment. Anchorage residents have been enjoying this holiday celebration for years and if you haven't yet attended, this is your chance!

The July 4th Celebration in Anchorage has been described as "part of the fabric of Anchorage" by elected officials, with over a thousand active participants and 25,000 attendees. The event will kick off at 8 AM on July 4th with a pancake breakfast after which guests can begin settling in to enjoy the parade at 11 AM. A festival will follow the parade from noon until 6 PM, including a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 1 PM, rides, games, vendors and food. For those planning to attend this year's parade, the route will start at 9th Avenue and K Street, proceed west down 9th, then loop around the Delaney Park Strip and head back up to 9th and K.

July 4 will not have a dull moment in Anchorage as after the parade, everyone is encouraged to head over to Peratrovich Park from noon to 1 PM for Music in the Park. From 5 PM to 8 PM, Anchorage residents and visitors can catch a Live After Five concert as part of the weekly Friday night series in Town Square Park. The concert is a great place to relax and rest up for the annual fireworks show which will begin at 11:20 PM after the Glacier Pilots-Bucs Alaska Baseball League game at Mulcahy Stadium.

If you'll be around the Eagle River area, the Chugiak Fourth of July Parade will also be marching on July 4th, beginning at the Latimer fire station on the Old Glenn Highway and finishing at the Chugiak Senior Center.

The communities of Anchorage and Eagle River will be buzzing this Fourth of July with annual events that the residents have come to know and love.
